I hadn't heard of it before but I definitely was interested in giving it a go reading the blurb. It sounded like it was going to be a straightforward romance story interlinked with a murder mystery, but I definitely wasn't prepared for what followed:a hauntingly beautiful story about trauma, survival, secrets and how far someone can go to protect them. The striking red symbolised the O'Connor's front door, but could it also be trying to point out something much darker going on behind the closed door? Blood, rage, romance...essentially I got the feeling the titled perfect couple weren't as they seem and that something was going to happen to them and we had to figure out what is going on, so count me in. I love books where there's a mystery going on and you get to read through the twists and turns while piecing together all the clues, and wondering which are the red herrings.  Plot details The book takes place over the course of just a few days, set on a small island near the coast of Ireland during the wedding of Will & Jules.
